"The new owner, who is internationally focused on cash and payment services, will be able to ensure excellent conditions for Automatia to offer high-quality cash services in the future as well. The new ownership structure clarifies Automatia's role as an independent expert and service provider. For consumers, the deal will not cause any changes to the services," states Automatia's chairman of the board, Petri Nikkilä.
Automatia was founded in 1994. Since then, the company has maintained and developed the Otto vending machine network and offered nationwide cash management services to banks. Automatia's owner banks have also taken care of cash availability by offering their customers the opportunity to withdraw money from store cash registers. In Finland, cash can be withdrawn from a total of approximately 5,000 points.
"From Automatia, we gain know-how and experience in cash machine services and digital payment systems. This is a great opportunity for us to expand our offering with cash machines. As the owner, Loomis continues to develop Automatia's business and utilize its know-how and the payment platform internationally. We welcome all new customers and employees to Loomis," says Patrik Andersson, CEO of Loomis AB.
The completion of the acquisition requires the approval of the authorities, including the Finnish Competition and Consumer Authority.
